WATCH: Kyle Chalmers’ School M8s Go Absolutely Boonta Watching His Big Win

Here’s a weird thought to ponder: What do you do the Monday after you return home from the Olympics having hauled in a Gold Medal?

If you’re Kyle Chalmers, apparently the answer to that is “head back to school.”
Chalmers, who at barely 18-years of age is now the youngest male to win an individual swimming Olympic gold medal since Ian Thorpe slotted in at 17 during the 2000 Sydney Olympics, is still in the final stages of Year 12 at Adelaide’s Immanuel College, if you can believe that.
The young superfish managed to put in a remarkable effort earlier today, overrunning virtually the entire field to win gold in the men’s 100m freestyle.
Not only was his family cheering him on, but it turns out practically his entire school stopped to watch his race.
Chalmers’ classmates at Immanuel all gathered to watch the race, and their reaction to his enormous win is something to behold.

How cool is that!

And if that alone ain’t enough to get the ole’ emotions stirring, here’s his bloody cute grandparents watching the win.

Nope. NOPE. That’s it. Can’t cope anymore. The Olympics is too bloody beautiful.

ONYA, CHALMO!
