Watch Dylan Rieder Skate Custom Ramps In Byron Bay

If you love watching skateboarders with skills so natural the deck is like an extension of their body, you’ll be well familiar with Dylan Rieder. The dude’s sense of balance and recovery is uncanny, as though he and gravity had a showdown and gravity lost out. Rieder looks at home on the ramp as he does in a park, part of the reason why Monster Children recruited him for their epic new film “Team Average 2.0”, shot in New Zealand by surf/skate filmmaking super talent, Riley Blakeway. Another reason Monster Children cast Rieder might have something to do with his cross over appeal (which is just a polite way of saying he’s so good looking it is emotional).

After New Zealand Dylan and Mr Blakeway roadtripped to Corona’s temple of zen La Casa in Byron Bay for a 10-day residency that involved constructing a custom-built ramp, squeezing a piano accordion, creating and chilling hard. Watch him in action below in footage shot by Riley Blakeway, where he talks about the skaters that influenced him, the hectic life as a sponsored pro, his music and the importance of taking time out.
