Usain Bolt Takes 100m Gold In Record Time

Pacing an Olympic-record-breaking 9.63 seconds, 25-year-old Jamaican sprint freak Usain Bolt cruised across the finish line making him the first man to win back-to-back Olympic Gold in the 100 metres since the great Carl Lewis.

Bolt crossed the finish line almost a metre in front of second place getter and fellow countryman Yohan Blake (9.75s), followed by US sprinter Justin Gatlin (9.79s) who claimed the Bronze. Watch the race below on someone’s flat screen TV:

Now bets are on for Bolt to take Gold in the 200 metre sprint, which he owns the current World Record. Heats heats kick off Tuesday, London time.
