It’s official – the Gold Coast Titans have signed ex-NFL player Jarryd Hayne.
The team revealed their interest in Hayne months ago after he left the San Francisco 49ers earlier this year, and now the star has signed with the Titans in a two-year, multimillion dollar deal that reportedly will make him the highest paid player in the history of the league.
He’ll reportedly earn $1.2 million per season.
Hayne left his short-lived career with the NFL after he decided to join the Fijian Rugby Sevens in order to be able to compete in the 2016 Rio Olympics.
However, his similarly short-lived Olympic dreams were shattered after Richard Ings, the former boss of ASADA, informed him via Twitter that he was ineligible to compete in Olympic World Rugby due to doping regulations.
But now, here we are. The Gold Coast Titans will announce the signing in a press conference at 10:30am today.
