Streaker’s Try Saving Tackle Covered In Vaseline, Taken Into Police Custody

Last night’s ballistic 2013 State of Origin series decider ended with Queensland maintaining its recent dominance over New South Wales and prevailing 12-10 in a nail-biting contest played out in front of more than 83,000 screaming fans at ANZ Stadium.

But it won’t be Mitchell Pearce entering the Hall of Shame as one of the most ineffective pivots in State of Origin history or Queensland’s impenetrable goal line defence that will be remembered. Instead, the night belonged to a surprisingly fleet footed streaker douche bag who managed somehow to breach the hi-vis defences of the ANZ Stadium security team and run 100 metres to impact play on the other side of the field. And in the retrospectively impressive act of carting his considerable doughy mass just metres before the try line, forced referees to disallow what would have been a match-sealing QLD try due to obstruction by fat naked man.

In the end though, his actions may have actually helped Queensland achieve victory with the defending champions’ prime objective being to deny NSW points as opposed to score them and the controversial obstruction ruling earning them another set of six with just minutes left in the contest.

But who is the most hated man in Australia right now?

His name is Wati Holmwood and last night’s streak wasn’t the first time his try-saving tackle has taken to the footy field.

Per Fairfax, “Holmwood was charged by police in 2011 after he stormed onto Allianz
Stadium during the first half of a match between the Wests Tigers and
New Zealand Warriors.”

The article also notes that Holmwood was likely to have applied a “vaseline-like substance” to his body as a way to evade security.

After apprehended, Holmwood was questioned by police at Auburn Police Station and charge with wilful and obscene exposure and entering or remaining on a playing field without authorisation. He is due to appear in court August 6th and faces lifetime bans at both ANZ Stadium and all future Rugby League matches.
