Some Absolute Lunatic Just Dropped $120K On A Single NBA Finals Ticket

It’s a raging hot ticket no matter what but holy shit this is absolutely next level.

Game 5 of the NBA Finals is almost upon us, thanks to a Cleveland Cavaliers outfit that finally woke the hell up and extended the series beyond a sweep this past weekend. The series once again shifts back to Oakland, California and the intimidating Oracle Arena home of the rampaging Golden State Warriors.
With the series at 3-1, Warriors fans have quickly snapped up tickets in the hope that the team can close the series out on home turf. As you’d expect, getting in isn’t exactly cheap. The least expensive seat available on ticket reselling website SeatGeek will currently set you back a lazy US$775. That’s just over $1,029 in AUD. And for that princely sum, you’ll be able to see dots run around the court from the rear end of the absolute upper deck.
Getting closer to the action? Sweet mother of god, is it eye-wateringly expensive.
One absolute lunatic of a fan was so keen to get courtside for the historic game that they dropped US90,000 – or AUD$120,000 – *EACH* on a pair of front row seats.
The seats are row AA, right smack bang on the court, so close to the action you there’s a fair-to-good chance they’ll be checking into the game themselves.
In a chaotic morning on the ticket reselling service, another fan dropped a staggering US$82,000 (or just over $100K in Australian dollars) on another nearby seat.

No matter which way you look at it, that’s a hell of a lot of avo toast breakfasts.

Still, as one astute user on popular pissing contest website Twitter dot com astutely points out…

…and, well, fair e-fucken-nough, really.

Game 5 of the NBA Finals is scheduled for tomorrow at 11:00am AEST.
