Slater Takes Care Of Business In Perfect Conditions

Kelly Slater continues to defy the ageing process by taking out the Quicksilver Pro in France and moving into second place in the overall tour rankings with three events to go. While rivals scramble to uncover his secrets – is it tiger blood, space crystals, or weekly colonics? – the 40-year-old Slater was just taking care of business in his usual manner as he lapped up the perfect beach breaks at La Graviere.

The fantastic conditions yielded plenty of perfect rides but it was Slater’s consistency that saw him edge past Joel Parkinson in a tight semi and then defeat fellow American Dane Reynolds in the final. Further illustrating that Pro Surfers actually have the best job in the world, they next head to Portugal where Parkinson (46,200 points) leads Slater (45,450) and Mick Fanning (43,000). Radical!
