Roosters Confirm Mitchell Pearce Left For Overseas Rehab Clinic Tonight

During a press conference today, Sydney Roosters captain Mitchell Pearce apologised to everyone who had been affected by his conduct when a video surfaced of him drunkenly simulating sex with a dog, and urinating on himself

The NRL player also tearfully admitted he had a problem with alcohol, saying this:
“I’m embarrassed and take full responsibility for my actions. I acknowledge that I have a problem with alcohol and it’s something I need to address. It’s not an excuse but finally a realisation that I finally need help.

Together with the club I’m working on a solution for me to address the issues which will come out in the next couple of days. I just want to thank everyone for turning up and I apologise again.”
Tonight, the Roosters have posted a statement to their website saying Pearce would be attending rehab in an unnamed overseas clinic, and had left to attend this tonight with his mum.

“The Sydney Roosters can confirm that Mitchell Pearce will be receiving treatment in an intensive rehabilitation facility for an extended period.

Pearce has tonight departed for the overseas facility with his mother, Terri.

The Club’s concerns for Mitchell’s welfare remain paramount as he seeks treatment.”
