Rob Gronkowski, The Jager Bomb Of People, Is Officially Retiring From The NFL

In news that will surely send stock prices of Jägermeister plummeting, America’s loosest bro Rob Gronkowski has this morning formally announced his retirement from the NFL at the age of just 29.

Gronk, one of the all-time great New England Patriots and certainly one of – if not the – greatest tight end to ever play the game, fittingly confirmed long-held suspicions that he will hang up the boots via a post on Instagram a short time ago.

It all started at 20 years old on stage at the NFL Draft when my dream came true, and now here I am about to turn 30 in a few months with a decision I feel is the biggest of my life so far.

I will be retiring from the game of football today. I am so grateful for the opportunity that Mr. Kraft and Coach Belichick gave to me when drafting my silliness in 2010. My life experiences over the last 9 years have been amazing both on and off the field. The people I have met, the relationships I have built, the championships I have bene a part of, I just want to thank the whole New England Patriots organisation for every opportunity I have been given [to learn] the great values of life that I can apply to mine.

Thank you to all of Pats Nation around the world for the incredible support since I have been a part of this first class organisation. Thank you everyone accepting who I am and the dedication I have put into my work to be the best player I could be.

But now it’s time to move forward and move forward with a big smile knowing that the New England Patriots organisation, Pats Nation, and all my fans will truly be a big part of my heart for the rest of my life. It was truly an incredible honour to play for such a great established organisation and [to be] able to come in to continue and contribute to keep building success.

To all my current and past teammates, thank you for making each team every year special to be a part of. I will truly miss you guys. Cheers to all who have been part of this journey, cheers to the part for the incredible memories, and a HUGE cheers to the uncertain of what’s next.

Aside from his on-field exploits that saw him collect 3 Super Bowls, 5 Pro Bowl selections, and an absolute stack of NFL Records, Gronk is one of the all-time greats as far as being just an absolute weapon on the piss is concerned; a reputation he wore proudly and often.

Fittingly enough, Gronkowski ends his storied NFL career with 80 total touchdowns from 115 games.

Which, of course, is an average of 0.69.

If you think he isn’t acutely aware of that, you do not know Gronk.

Hell yeah, brother.
