An Aussie Bloke Landed A Ping Pong Trick Shot So Ridiculous ESPN Frothed It

Trick shots: An area of YouTube content populated exclusively by incredibly weird dudes making videos that are, physically, impossible to look away from. And while the market may be dominated by the cult-like Dude Perfect conglomerate (or the even more cult-like How Ridiculous who all look like counsellors at Camp Jellyjam), a local upstart mob from Australia may have usurped them all by producing one of the more straight-up mind boggling trick shots of all time.

Gear Up are sticking to the tried-and-true trick shot method of ping pong balls being ramped off of strategically placed things that so many have done before. The only difference with them is that they’ve brought a dart board into play recently and the results have been insane.

Their latest effort is so outrageous, in fact, that it’s caught the attention of Sportscenter on ESPN, would you even believe.

Seriously. Cop a look at this.

Jesus christ. How many takes did that require? How the hell do you even time it so a dart – in a plastic cup making it fly weird, mind you – lodges into the board in the exact right place at the exact right time to catch the ball? Get absolutely rooted. Out of control stuff, this.

Here’s the real kicker though: It’s only their second-best dart board-related effort.

Get this one into yr lookin’ holes.

What. WHAT. How… does that… stay in the cup? There’s crooked carny games designed exactly that are nigh on impossible to get the same result, and those sumbitches are on the ground.

There’s a lesson in here for all of you. Something about patience and persistence and drive and determination but mainly about looking down the barrel of a camera and shouting “LET’S GOOOOO” really loud while infinite version of the same weak-ass God rock song plays in the background.

I’m not quite sure what the lesson is. But it’s in there somewhere, I know that.
