Phil Walsh Murder: Son Cy Charged, Transferred To Mental Health Facility

As the investigation into the murder of Adelaide Crows coach Phil Walsh continues, his alleged killer, son Cy Walsh, has been transferred from Flinders Medical Centre to a secure mental health facility, James Nash House.

Cy has been charged with his father’s murder, and was remanded in a bedside hearing in hospital yesterday. No application was made for bail, and he will next appear in court on September 15.
This morning, a report in The Adelaide Advertiser indicates that detectives are currently probing a possible link to drugs, specifically ice, in relation to the murder.
Allegedly, a photograph has emerged showing “some kind of smoking pipe” being removed from the Somerton Park house where Phil Walsh was stabbed to death in the early hours of Friday morning.
Cy was arrested a short time after his father’s body was discovered, having fled to the First Avenue house of a school friend where he regularly stayed.
Police are reportedly investigating links between Cy Walsh and one particular First Avenue unit, which is “known to residents as a place where drugs are regularly used,” and is currently boarded up following a recent axe attack.
In related news, police are currently asking for an Adelaide taxi driver to come forward, believing that he may have key information from the hours leading up to Phil Walsh’s alleged stabbing murder.
They believe that the driver in question may have seen a man “covered in blood” walking near the intersection of Brighton and Jetty roads at around 2am, shortly after the incident.
