Perth Scorchers Turn The Hell Up To Nab Big Bash Trophy Over Sydney Sixers

The Perth Scorchers have just gone ahead and secured their third big Bash League League title, racking up 144 runs in 15.5 overs after a tight bowling onslaught limited the Sydney Sixers to 9-141.

On home soil, the Scorchers acted immediately – and relentlessly. Mitchell Johnson only relinquished a single from his opening over, before a pearler from Ashton Turner against Daniel Hughes was transformed into a standard catch, setting the tone for the Sixers’ battle.

Jhye Richardson and Tim Bresnan each took home three scalps, with the former rifling through a strong Brad Haddin, Moises Henriques and Jordan Silk in quick succession.

After setting up a very manageable total, the Scorchers came on strong. Sam Whiteman and Michael Klinger powered to 75 before Whiteman was dismissed by Nathan Lyon. Adequate, Gareth.

From there, it was Klinger’s game. Like big hits? HAVE IT.

Of course, a six did it.

Thanks to hits like that, Perth chased ’em down in 15.5 overs. Solid effort for the dominant West Aussie outfit, we reckon.
