While large parts of Australia remain stuck in the wrong season (Snow in October? Get a clue weather!), our surfers continue on their endless summer with the latest stop at the Rip Curl Pro in Peniche, Portugal. Joel Parkinson leads the tour and easily progressed through to the third round while the second place Kelly Slater, fresh from back-to-back victories at Trestles and France, is hot on his heels after a straight-forward victory on his was through. Early tour leader Mick Fanning made tougher work of it with a first round loss but victory in the second chance round saw him progress through in an effort to improve on his 3rd place tour ranking. Bust out the Pina Colada’s, turn on the heater, and enjoy!
