Hiroki Ogita is a true icon of the Olympics, and anyone who has ever had their dream spoiled as a direct consequence of their genitals ought to see him as a hero and a martyr. The Japanese pole vaulter was disqualified when his dick visibly struck the high bar through his shorts, as per this immaculate GIF:

Now, Ogita is a little baffled by the attention he’s gotten over the past day, and he’s a little miffed by the coverage. “I never expected the foreign media to take me down like this,” the 28-year-old athlete tweeted.
“It’s one thing if it was true, but I have to say I’m pretty devastated that they’d go so far to make something up to mock and ridicule me so much.”
It’s clear that this was just a case of a truly unfortunate camera angle, but nonetheless. Despite the gags, Ogita is actually kinda pleased that this is bringing attention to his beloved sport, even if the attention comes via his junk. “It doesn’t matter if you do it for a joke or whatever, I ask you to go and watch an actual game at a stadium for once. I hope you appreciate, even a bit, what a great sport pole vaulting is.”
And despite his heartfelt opposition to the ravages of the international media, he eventually decided the footage is actually great. “Watching again, this is pretty funny, if I say so myself. LOL.”
