Okay, So Why Is The Synchronised Diving Pool In Rio Bright Fkn Green?

Ummmmm…. has anyone else noticed that the synchronised diving pool at the 2016 Rio Olympics is really, really green?

It’s like, bright green. Lime jelly kinda green. Like the divers are jumping into a pool of lime cordial. (Are they though? Bc that sounds delicious.)
JUST TAKE A BLOODY GANDER AT IT!

The divers themselves have obviously noticed that they are jumping into a pool filled with The Joker‘s hair dye:

Olympic organisers sent out a press release last night, saying they didn’t have a ruddy clue what’d happened, but they’d run tests and the colouration isn’t harmful to the athletes.

“Water tests at Maria Lenk Aquatics Centre diving pool were conducted and it was found to be no risk to athletes’ health.

We are investigating what are the causes of the situation but are pleased to say the competition was successfully completed.”
Some athletes don’t seem fazed, including British diving duo Tonia Couch and Lois Toulson:
“Well there was [something wrong] as far as we could see.

Maybe there’s nothing wrong? Maybe it’s just us? Maybe we’re seeing it wrong and it is blue. When you’re at the Olympics you’re not thinking of the colour of the pool, you’re thinking ‘wow, I’m at the Olympic Games.

We noticed it during warm ups but it didn’t really faze us.”
American competitors Jessica Parratto and Amy Cozad are actually quite positive about the colour-change:

“It’s pretty green. It’s so green.

I don’t know why. I said we got a personal best score so maybe we should ask for a green pool from now on. I kind of liked it.

I think when the sun down it was worse. I couldn’t see [Amy] when I was underneath.”

So, we have no conclusive evidence, and the stange green pool remains a beautiful lime mystery.

Oi, remember when you were a kid and ya mum would tell you that the water would change colour if you wee’d in the pool? Hahahahaha… Oh. Oh my.
