Let’s All Watch This NFL Player Kick A Punter In The Head, Shall We?

Whilst footy in our part of the world is winding towards its dramatic conclusion for the year, on the other side of the world it’s just kicking off. The brand, spanking new NFL season is underway, with the season’s first Sunday batch of games run and won.

While the games themselves have coughed up their fair share of surprises – did Miami seriously just steamroll New England like that? Did that actually happen? – it’s the weird and wonderful that’s caught our attention today.
And with that said, we present to you Exhibit A, in which Pittsburgh Steelers punt returner Antonio Brown forces Cleveland Browns punter Spencer Lanning to realise a punter’s worst nightmare – actually having to make a defensive play – and in the process of attempting to hurdle him, winds up kicking him square in the face instead.

The kind of kick that Mr. Miyagi would be supremely proud of, nodding on from the crowds as you stand over your fallen Cobra Kai foe.
But it’s not all bad news for Lanning. After he climbed out of the turf he’d been curb-stomped three feet into, he realised that the referees had called Brown for unnecessary roughness, negating the play.
Lanning also seems to have a sense of humour about the whole incident.

I’ve heard of climbing over someone to score, but that’s a bit ridiculous.
