Leicester City Takes The Premier League For The 1st Time After Huge Season

Leicester City have pulled off one of the biggest season-long upsets in football history, taking the Premier League title after a 2-2 between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, which the Spurs needed to win to keep the ball rolling. It’s the first time Leicester have taken it, which is, uh, fairly enormous – the last first-time winners were Nottingham Forest in bloody 1978.

What’s more, Leicester were considered total write-offs at the beginning of the season. They were nearly out of the Premier League altogether last year, and bookies placed their odds of winning at 5,000 to 1. I wouldn’t take that bet. Would you take that bet?
This is just potentially one of the biggest, if not the biggest story in EPL history. The Spurs were up 2-0 at half-time, but a huge showing from Chelsea in the second half – including an incredible equalising goal from Eden Hazard – cut short the former’s ambition. There’s a very good Vine of the players realisation that they had it.
That Premier League feeling:
Twitter, and indeed the world, is basically in a state of paralysed disbelief at what they’ve just seen go down.

Also, for the comedy option, this old tweet is being surfaced hard.
What a season. What a story.
