Here’s LeBron James Knocking Down His First In-Game Points As A LA Laker

As weird as it may be to wrap the head around, LeBron James is an LA Laker now. It wasn’t some weird fever dream from which we’re only now just waking up from, it actually happened. He’s in Los Angeles now, he’s playing for the Lakers this NBA season.

LeBron’s arrival in LA was done without the usual hype and fanfare associated with LeBron James changing teams, and his first official points in a Lakers uniform were just as inauspicious.

James has taken a handful of minutes in the Lakers preseason opener against Denver in San Diego today, lining up in the traditional “showtime”-style forum blue and gold outfits the Lakers are sporting this year.

Just a few minutes into the first quarter, James sunk his first in-game points as a goddamned Los Angeles Laker: A long-range three from Jimmer territory.

Points on the board. LeBron James. Los Angeles Laker. Bloody hell.

So far in the game James has seen around 15 minutes of court time and has dropped a very casual 9 points as he looks to ease himself into proceedings in preparation for a full-tilt assault on the 2018-19 season proper.

But for those of you still holding out hope that some sort of miracle would pop up and prevent it, it’s over. LeBron James has officially seen court time as in a Los Angeles Lakers uniform.

It’s happened. It’s real. There’s no turning back now.
