Klay Thompson Smashed The NBA Record For 3 Pointers In A Game In 27 Minutes

Golden State Warriors jet Klay Thompson walked onto the court today in Chicago, apparently inputted some cheat codes, and left the court barely a half hour later with a new all-time NBA record in his pocket. Old mate barely broke a sweat.

The Warriors met with the Chicago Bulls today, and Thompson used the occasion to do a little target practice, camping above the arc and raining hell down throughout the 27 meagre court minutes he was afforded.

Thompson caught fire early in the first quarter and did not let up until he set a new all-time NBA record for most three point shots made in a single game.

He had fourteen.

Fourteen.

In the first quarter alone, Thompson sunk six of the bastards. All from ridiculous spots. All under what any normal person would consider “decent defensive coverage.”

By the time he checked out of the game – before the end of the third quarter – Klay had dropped fourteen long-range bombs off of twenty-four attempts, adding to an overall total of 52 points.

A truly absurd display that defies all conventional logic.

You know you’re doing something right when you’re managing to get the opposing team’s home stadium to go batshit nuts for you.

Also, the fact that he achieved the feat while Chicago was on 69 points? Nice.

Thompson’s record eclipses the previous mark set by teammate Steph Curry, and surely now declares the start of an inter-team arms race for long range shots between the two of them.

And, if this ridiculously high-scoring NBA season is anything to go by, can only mean we’re in for a hell of a ride.
