Karmichael Hunt Has Been Charged With Supplying Cocaine

Former Rugby League, former AFL, current Rugby Union star Karmichael Hunt has been charged with four counts of supplying cocaine by the Queensland Crime and Corruption Commission.

The code-hopping sportsman, and current Queensland Reds player was nabbed by the commission as part of an on-going investigation into an alleged trafficking syndicate based out of South East Queensland.
Authorities allege Hunt, along with three others, made contact with the syndicate and arranged to buy cocaine either for personal use, or to be passed on to friends and colleagues. This occurred during the period covering June through December of 2014. At the time, Hunt was still contracted to AFL club Gold Coast Suns.
Hunt and his co-accused – which include a 24 year-old man from Burleigh Waters and a 27 year-old man and 22 year-old woman both from Mermaid Waters – will appear at Southport Magistrates Court on March the 5th to have their charges heard.
The Super Rugby season kicked off last weekend. Neither the Reds, nor Hunt’s former club Gold Coast have commented as of yet.
