Johnathan Thurston’s Daughter Steals Show, Hearts At NRL Grand Final

The story of Johnathan Thurston is now one for the very, very upper annals of Australian sporting history.

Rugby League’s current, inarguable best player – perhaps even the greatest of all time – cements his place in history by punching through a dramatic golden point, lifting his North Queensland Cowboys to a dramatic maiden premiership.
His tireless, herculean efforts all game long earn him the Clive Churchill Medal for best afield – completing his collection of the NRL‘s highest honours.
And on a weekend where Indigenous athletes shone on the biggest stages, Thurston shone brightest of all.
And then his tiny adorable daughter joined her Dad to celebrate and everyone’s hearts melted.
Barely two-year old Frankie Thurston had a wee little moment with her old man that reduced pretty much the whole nation to a mess of ugly happy crying.
LOOK AT THIS, WOULD YOU.

Even her adorable little doll is wearing a Cowboys jumper! Oh man.

Footy’s a bloody great game – and last night’s was one of the greatest of all time. But man. This is the kind of thing that really warms the cockles of the heart.
Bless u, Thursto. x
