GoT Fans Revel In Irony Of Aussie Olympian Brandon Starc’s High Jump Skills

If you’re not already familiar, there’s an Aussie Olympic high jumper by the name of Brandon Starc currently gunning for gold in Rio.
And if you haven’t already made the connection (*knocks head*), he has a very obvious name twin in Westeros seer-of-major-plotlines Bran Stark aka the Three-Eyed Raven.
The 22-year-old Sydneysider became Games Of Thrones fans’ unlikely hero when he skyrocketed his way through to the final, clearing 2.29m in his third attempt to make 11th place – an impressive feat given he was left paralysed when ice-cold Jaime Lannister pushed him out a window back in S1.

Athletics Australia even started the hashtag #HouseStarc to big up the connection for the local ledge.

It wasn’t long before Twitter was having a field day, ‘cos Internet.

May he bring glory to Winterfell Australia.
