Golden State Topples Michael Jordan’s NBA Record For Most Wins In A Year

There it is, sports fans. The record has fallen.

The mythical record for most wins in an NBA season, set by Michael Jordan and the dynastic 95-96 Chicago Bulls, has been bested.
The Golden State Warriors routed the Memphis Grizzlies today, in their final game of the regular season.
In doing so, they improved their season record to the god-like 73-9, eclipsing the all-time NBA mark of 72-10 set by the Bulls 20 years ago.
The new record is such a massive achievement that event the goddamned President was in awe.
Steph Curry and Klay Thompson again put on a freakish performance, with Curry in particular sinking 46 points, which included his 400th 3-point shot made for the year – the first time any NBA player has achieved that feat.

The Warriors only lost twice at their home fortress of Oracle Arena through the course of the year, with the other 7 defeats coming on the road.

The record includes their first win in San Antonio against the Spurs since 1997, a losing streak broken just a few days ago.
The Warriors attentions now turn to the NBA Playoffs, and the quest to bring back-to-back NBA Championships to the Bay Area for the first time in franchise history.
They’ll face off in the first round against the 8th seeded Houston Rockets, the team they knocked off in last years’ Western Conference Finals.
