It looks like you can put freestyle before any sport and it kinda works – well, as long as the participants are busting out the kind of whack moves that leave the pros in their dust.
So now Freestyle Soccer is a thing and Iya Traore is fast becoming a household name in France and an internet sensation across the world thanks to his round ball magic. Immigrating to France from Guinea in 2000 with dreams of becoming a pro, Traore failed to land a deal but that didn’t stop the 26 year-old developing a unique set of skills along the way.
While clubs couldn’t find a practical use for Trarore’s ability to clime a light pole while balancing a soccer ball on his head, Trarore has been able to wow the busker-fatigued crowds around Paris after finishing second in 2010’s France Has Talent. Seriously, juggling a soccer ball while hanging from off a light pole? Get outta town!
