Ferdinand snubs Terry in pre-match shake

The most anticipated clash of the Barclays Premier League season was over before a whistle was blown with QPR defender Anton Ferdinand confirming pre-game speculation that he would snub former English captain John Terry at the handshake in the wake of last year’s racism controversy. Terry was alleged to have called Ferdinand an F-B-C (you don’t need to be too creative to work that one out) to which point Terry was charged with using racist language by the Crown Prosecution Service. Terry was acquitted of the charges but relations deteriorated further with the involvement of Ashley Cole (as witness for Terry) and Rio Ferdinand (Anton’s bro and Terry’s former England teammate). The last time Chelsea and Queens Park Rangers met, only weeks ofter the initial incident, the handshake was abandoned. This time around Anton was ice-cold. Ouch! As for the game, they played out a 0-0 draw without further incident.
