Dustin Martin, Undisputed Off-Season King, Has Finally Picked His Car Up From The MCG

In absolutely heroic scenes, Richmond gun and dual Norm Smith Medallist Dustin Martin has reportedly picked his car up from the MCG underground car park, where it had remained ever since the Tigers took out the 2019 AFL Grand Final back in late September.

The legend goes that Martin went so goddamned hard after Richmond’s second flag in three years that he simply could not find the time to pop back to the stadium and legally drive his car home.

Remarkably enough, that also meant the car remained at the ‘G while Dusty galavanted off overseas on an extended break, where he popped up in various locales usual locales as Las Vegas, and some slightly less regular haunts like in Serena Williams‘ Instagram story posted from a private tropical getaway in the Maldives (still scratching our head over that one tbh).

But now with annual leave done and dusted for the year and playing lists slowly returning to the pre-season track, we finally have confirmation that not only is Dustin Martin back in the country, but that his car has been picked up from the MCG at long, long last.

Martin formally returned to Tigers training this morning, with the 2019 Premiers kicking off preparations for their flag defence in season 2020.

Although Martin himself didn’t confirm the whereabouts of his car, great mate and Tigers captain Trent Cotchin told reporters at Richmond’s Punt Road Oval base that the car is, in fact, back in its right place.

Cotchin confirmed Martin’s car is back home, stating “It’s not at the ‘G anymore, he did pick it up. And he actually went to pick it up himself, so that was a surprise.”

Thus we bring to a close one of the all-time great off-seasons in footy history. Absolute King shit, right there.
