What is it with movies stars and football players at the moment? First Tom Cruise was spruiking the yet-to-be-confirmed acting chops of David Beckham and now current 007 Daniel Craig has thrown Liverpool and England captain Steven Gerrard’s hat into the ring as his possible replacement.
Forget esteemed thesps Christian Bale, Michael Fassbender and Guy Pearce, long time Liverpool fan Craig is all about Gerrard. “Well, I don’t think I could keep up any more so Bond will do, but Steven Gerrard would make a good Bond. He is a good leader, so you know what, seriously, who knows?”
As illustrated by the Skyfall trailer and every other non-Roger Moore Bond film, the role of 007 requires a great deal of physical prowess and it’s not like Gerrard has had NO acting experience…
