Arzani was not only the youngest ever player to be named in a World Cup squad for the Socceroos, but he was also the overall youngest player in the 2018 Cup.

Since joining Melbourne City in 2016, Arzani was named Young Footballer of the Year for 2017/18 after an incredible breakout season. Then, he copped the PFA Harry Kewell Medal, the Under 23 Player of the Year award for the same season.

Manchester announced they were “delighted” with the transfer from Melbourne Citysharing the young gun had touched down in the UK on Wednesday to complete the transfer.

City Group’s Managing Director of Global Football, Brian Marwood, said on behalf of their football family they were “delighted to see another Australian-grown talent make this move.”

“In a short period of time, Daniel has developed into one of Australia’s brightest young stars and has demonstrated the drive and raw talent required for success at the highest level.”

Meanwhile, Arzani’s just chilling – the world at his very talented feet:

In a message to his fans, via Melbourne City, Arzani said a massive thank you to everyone for their support.

“This club will always share a special place in my heart, I have memories here that I’ll never forget like my debut, you know, coming on for the first time as a 17-year-old in the A-League, I was absolutely buzzing after the game.

“And then maybe a year later, the fans chanting my name in the stadium, it’s been an incredible rollercoaster and the City fans have been with me from the beginning to very end of it, you know, when I was getting my Socceroos call-up, all the support messages I was getting through social media.

“I’d just like to thank everyone and hopefully one day I’ll be back.”
