Meares spoke to news sources yesterday about potentially being Australia’s flag bearer and captain:
“For me it has been all about getting on the team for Rio and competing for Australia.Just to have my name in the mix, there are some truly incredible athletes in the team already and that in itself is a huge honour, it’s a big decision ahead of Kitty (Chiller) tomorrow and I’m waiting with bated breath like everyone else. What would it mean? I’d be speechless to be quite honest, we’ll see.”
And speechless she must be. Congratulations, Anna!
