Chairman Frank Lowy Falls Off Stage At A-League Grand Final

Last night, Melbourne Victory brought home a win in the A-League grand final, but one of the more memorable moments of the match occurred afterwards, when FFA chairman Frank Lowy took a nasty tumble from stage.

The 84-year-old Lowy was called upon to present a trophy to to Victory captain Mark Milligan, but as he did so, he lost his footing and stumbled backwards off the podium, landing pretty hard on the grass.
Medics rushed to assist Lowy, who was soon back on his feet, and able to present Milligan with his trophy, to the cheers of the crowd at AAMI stadium. Watch the incident play out below:
A subsequent statement from the FAA read: “Mr Lowy received treatment from paramedics on the scene and was cleared of serious injury. He has soreness in his shoulder from the fall, but is otherwise OK.”
