Here we go again. For the fourth consecutive year, it will be the Golden State Warriors vs LeBron James & Friends (or the “Cleveland Cavaliers” if you want to split hairs) duking it out in the NBA Finals.
Steph Curry and the Warriors overcame an abominable start to Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals to overpower the Houston Rockets in a script that should feel all-too-familiar for basketball fans.
The Warriors were sloppy and outworked in the first quarter amid fierce Rockets defensive pressure, leading coach Steve Kerr to label it “one of the worst quarters of basketball we’ve ever played” in a wild on-court interview that ended almost as quickly as it began.

Enter: Curry, Kevin Durant, and the kind of Warriors.
Durant exploded for 34 points, with Curry following close behind on 27, and the Warriors’ defence woke up, forcing James Harden and the Houston Rockets into an astounding stretch where they missed 29 out of 30 shots from beyond the arc, leading to the Warriors taking the game 101-92, and the series four games to three.
This means Cleveland and Golden State will meet in the NBA Finals for the fourth consecutive year.
Twitter, as you’d imagine, has some feelings about this.
I hope every single starter on both the Cavs and Warriors get hurt so we get 7 games of bench players and every game ends like 52-47

The Warriors & The Cavs are like couples on Valentine’s Day, do a whole bunch of extra shit just to get the same result you got the last time…

After several months of trying to convince ourselves the NBA isn’t as predictable as we thought, here we are again. Cavs-Warriors 4.0

MVP of the on-going tsunami of jokes goes to CBS Sports, though, who had this absolutely cracking parody of the Family Matters opening credits locked and loaded.

Which would mean that Adam Silver is Urkel and yes, he almost assuredly did do that.
The NBA Finals, once again featuring Cleveland and Golden State, starts later this week.
God help us all.
