Calm Down, The Paralympics Will Screen On ABC (Not Nine)

Quick heads up sports fans. In case you’ve been wondering about the status of the pending 2012 London Paralympic Games, I can confirm that they are definitely happening. In fact many of the Games’ events are scheduled to screen on the ABC so, like the Olympics, you’ll be able to watch it (depending on your sleep patterns and enthusiasm for sport).

Just so we’re clear let me repeat that. The Paralympics will be shown on the ABC, not Channel Nine, the network that’s been broadcasting the Olympic Games. Assuming Nine would also have the broadcasting rights to the Paralympics is an honest mistake anyone could make; or more specifically one Honest Australian who was compelled to broach it with Nine on the channel’s Facebook page.

The constant shame-fest of Big Brother plugging and the unfathomable prime-time return of self-anointed aw-shucks guy with a bitchin rock star life are fantastic issues well worth raising; but any Paralympics-related feedback should go to the ABC. See, they’ve even got a countdown going:

Before you rant on a public forum make sure you check the facts.
