Broncos Face Extortion Attempt, With Alleged Cocaine Video Shopped To Media

The Brisbane Broncos are facing an extortion attempt, with a video of a player snorting cocaine from a toilet seat reportedly being shopped to Queensland media outlets.
Seven News said that they were offered the tape, with an asking price of more than $50,000; they have since claimed that the player involved can not be “categorically identified”, as he only faces the camera for a short time
The Courier Mail were also offered the footage; they say that the person filming can be heard threatening to sell it to the media, before the player asks them not to, saying “it will ruin my career.”
The alleged incident appears to have taken place in late June, after the Broncos lost to the Bulldogs in Sydney, but the player thought to be involved denied any wrongdoing when contacted by the team.
The NRL’s integrity unit were reportedly made aware of the tape’s existence earlier in the week, but are waiting for further information before deciding whether to take action.
Earlier this week, an alleged sex tape of Parramatta‘s Corey Norman was shopped to media, with an asking price of more than $150,000. Norman himself was recently fined by the club and stood down for a match in relation to a conviction for drug possession.
