It’s been a full twelve months since Jack Riewoldt put the ultimate full-stop on Richmond’s fairytale 2017 AFL Premiership win by taking to the MCG with The Killers to belt out a now-iconic performance of Mr. Brightside, but that doesn’t mean for a second that his mates aren’t above hanging shit on him for it. The AFL‘s official Instagram page put up a swathe of past Grand Final pre-game performances in a post, asking fans to name their all-time favourite. The list of options included the likes of The Killers, Lionel Ritchie, Ed Sheeran, Sting, and even Meatloaf‘s infamous disaster from the 2011 Grand Final.
Riewoldt, too, was in there.
Nothing out of the ordinary there at first glance.
