Bernard Tomic has just ended compatriot Sam Groth’s Australian Open campaign – his best ever; he was the tournament’s ace leader – in straight sets, 6-4, 7-6(8), 6-3
Tomic now faces Czech World No. 7 Tomas Berdych in the fourth round.
In related news at the time of writing Nick Kyrgios, one of the tournament’s few remaining Australians, leads 6-3 in his match against Tunisian Malek Jaziri. He has just emerged unscathed on the other side of a bloody nose, leading to repeated pleas on Twitter that he be furnished with a tampon.
