Australia’s Thanasi Kokkinakis In On-Court Dust-Up With American Opponent

Just days after he was unwittingly pulled into Nick Kyrgios‘s infamous on-court sledge, young Aussie player Thanasi Kokkinakis has found himself in some on-court drama of his own, with American player Ryan Harrison.
Kokkinakis and Harrison exchanged heated words throughout the match, and at one point, the Aussie complained that the American had called him a “prick”, but when pressed on it, he insisted that he had only said “kid.”
Later, Harrison mocked Kokkinakis, calling out “your whole crew is just so cool”, presumably in reference to his close mate Kyrgios, who last week, infamously told opponent Stan Wawrinka “Kokkinakis banged your girlfriend.”
Kokkinakis won the match, a qualifier for the Cincinnati Masters, 7-5, 3-6, 7-6 (7/2), but the most heated moment came afterwards, during the handshake, when Harrison appeared to pull the Aussie in for a ‘chat’.

An umpire stepped in to separate them, and Harrison was heard saying “these kids have got to get under control”, after which Kokkinakis defended himself, saying he had done “nothing” to disrespect Harrison.
The American, for whatever reason, really wasn’t going to let the imaginary beef go, and after the match, he told media: “If he wants to get into it, I’ll bury him. Wawrinka should’ve decked Kyrgios, and I should deck that kid.”
The investigation into Kyrgios’s on-court sledge of Wawrinka continues, and the young player could be facing a three-year ban from ATP tournaments, as well as additional fines.
