The weekend before last, it was the Diamonds who brought home Australia’s latest world title; today, it’s the indefatigable Southern Stars who have done the nation proud, regaining the 2015 Women’s Ashes in the early hours of this morning.
Australia’s female athletes in 2015?
DESTROYING. THE. FKN. JOINT.
Claiming the Ashes for the first time in five years, the Southern Stars’ magnificent bowling sealed England’s fate at the second T20 in Hove overnight. Australia’s batting was no indication of what would soon follow – after bowing out of their innings 7 for 107, the Southern Stars shone brightly with the relentless bowling efforts of Ellyse Perry (2 for 13), Rene Farrell (3 for 17), Megan Schutt (2 for 18) and Sarah Coyte.
Perry, once again, cemented her status as one of Australia’s most skilful sporting heroes.
Defending a small total and with the #Ashes up for grabs, Ellyse Perry produced the nearest of near hat-tricks! http://t.co/svq7mptU1L

Australia’s victory provides solace for the wrath England smote upon Australia’s men’s team last month, during the ruthless slaughter that was Australia’s experience in the [men’s] 2015 Ashes.
The Southern Stars, tho? YOU. BEAUTY.
