Australia Are Through To The Asian Cup Final Against South Korea

In a second winning twist for an otherwise mixed night of Australian sport – and let’s face it, isn’t every night just that? – the Socceroos are through to the 2015 Asian Cup finals having trounced the United Arab Emirates in their semi-final face-off 2-0 in front of a crowd of over 21,000 at Newcastle Stadium.
After a strong start – including a second-minute header straight into the goal from Trent Sainsbury (watch that below) followed soon after by another from full-back Jason Davidson – Australia now faces off against South Korea, who last night qualified for the final with a 2-0 win over Iraq, in Saturday’s Asian Cup decider.
South Korea are yet to concede a goal in the tournament thus far, so there’s that.
