Aussie Olympic Boss Says The Rio Games Are The Most Bloody Difficult Ever

We’ve all read the reports about the Rio Olympics. We know they’ve been a bit of a challenge. I was in Rio with PEDESTRIAN.TV over the weekend, and some of the planning and execution has been a little haphazard, to say the least. The atmosphere is still pretty electric, mind you, and there was this dude to liven everyone’s spirits:

Now, International Olympic Committee vice-president and Australian Olympic chief John Coates has expressed his frustration, describing the Rio Games as “the most difficult we have ever encountered”, and described the “extraordinary issues” in the staging of the Games.
Obviously, between when Rio was selected as the host for the Games and now, there’s been a fair bit of political and economic strife.
“Seven years ago when they (Rio) were selected, they were on the verge of being a top five GDP nation in the world.” said Coates. “They’re 74th now and it’s been a struggle.”

Hopefully going forward there;ll be less green swimming pools and bullets fired into equestrian tents, hey?
