Aussie Golf Pranksters Say North Korea Wants Them To Come Back Apologise

Polo-playing Brissie bros Morgan Ruig and Evan Shay went viral as hell this week, after claiming they’d conned their way into a North Korean international golf tournament by pretending to be the official Aussie team, despite their non-existent expertise at the sport.
Their exploits, it turns out, weren’t quite as magnificently ballsy as we were initially let to believe – the two didn’t ‘con’ their way into North Korea as such, but rather, booked a trip through a tour company called Lupine Travel, for an annual friendly golf tournament.
The pair returned home to the Gold Coast yesterday, where they received a heroes welcome, but according to them, North Korean officials are aware of the story, and are demanding an apology live on national television.
Ruig told Brisbane’s Courier Mail:

“We’ve been told by the travel agent who arranged the trip that North Korea wants us to go back to make an official apology on live TV. Yeah, no … we won’t be doing that any time soon. Years of hard labour in a North Korean prison doesn’t exactly appeal.’”
We reached out to Admiral Ackbar for comment on the situation, and he told us:
The pair haven’t done too badly out of this whole deal, gaining thousands of social media followers and getting invitations to play at tournaments in Somalia and the US. “We’re both single, so we don’t mind that,” said Shay.
If you’re thirsty and/or you just want to congratulate them and buy them a beer, they’ll be at the Land Rover Polo in the City tournament in Brisbane on November 19.
