Anna, a popular lifestyle blogger who founded the fashion label Wilo Green in 2012, died yesterday after reportedly suffering a cardiac arrest some time last week. She had undergone an eye operation in the weeks leading up to falling ill.

Green and his family issued a short statement to media this afternoon confirming Anna’s tragic passing, praising the efforts of the team at the Alfred Hospital over the past few days.

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we confirm the passing of beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend Anna Green.

Anna suffered a cardiac arrest last week and passed away peacefully at lunch time yesterday surrounded by her immediate family.

The family would like to thank the committed medical team at the intensive care unit at Melbourne’s Alfred Hospital and would now ask for privacy as they come to terms with their loss.

Brad, who played 254 AFL games for Melbourne from 2000 until 2012, and Anna were born in neighbouring rural Tasmanian towns 5 minutes apart and knew each other growing up, but didn’t get together until a chance meeting in 2007. The couple were married in 2013 and had two children, now aged seven and nine.

Brad posted a heartbreaking tribute to his wife on Instagram yesterday, stating “Goodbyes are not forever, are not the end. It simply means, I’ll miss you until we meet again. Rest easy my darling #xxx3boys.”

Jerri Jones, wife of current Melbourne star and former teammate of Brad’s Nathan, shared a tribute on Instagram as well a short time ago.

Teammates and Melbourne club officials are said to be rallying around Brad and his family in this unfathomably awful time.
