Andrew Bogut’s Bung Knee Means He’s Out For The Rest Of The NBA Finals

Golden State Warriors centre and Melbourne boy Andrew Bogut has managed to avoid a major knee injury after his bloody painful looking collision with Cleveland‘s JR Smith – but he won’t be around for the rest of the NBA Finals nonetheless.

Remember this? Yowza.
He couldn’t walk on his sprained knee after the collision, and now it looks like he’ll be out for six to eight weeks. Turns out he’s suffered bone bruises to his proximal tibia and distal femur. Luckily, he won’t require surgery.
A sad loss of Golden State fans in Australia, but lets be honest here: he hasn’t made the most massive contribution this series. He’s only averaged 12 minutes per game, scoring an average of 3.2 points and grabbing 3 rebounds. But then again, going big with the blocks is the reason he’s on the court rather than traditional categories.
It’s likely that the Warriors will replace him with either Draymond Green or backup centre Festus Ezeli in Game 6.
Bogut will be in the final year of his contract next season.
