Amy Shark Is Set To Perform At This Year’s Huge AFLW Grand Final

In what makes an already-huge game even bigger, league officials have confirmed that Amy Shark will provide pre-game entertainment at this weekend’s enormous AFLW Grand Final in Adelaide.

The Gold Coast Shark will play before the season-deciding clash between Adelaide and Carlton this coming Sunday afternoon, as well as at the league’s season-ending W Awards ceremony on Tuesday night.

Shark follows an AFLW Grand Final tradition of booking prominent female talent to provide game day entertainment for Grand Final crowds, with Megan Washington performing at the inaugural AFLW Grand Final in 2017, and Missy Higgins booked for last year’s decider; Higgins’ performance was subsequently cancelled, however, due to torrential rain falling over Ikon Park.

The Adelaide Crows have again proven to be the gold standard of the AFLW throughout the season, behind veteran athlete Erin Phillips and a strong supporting cast. The Crows punched their ticket to this year’s Grand Final in a clinical demolition of Geelong in last weekend’s preliminary final.

Meanwhile Carlton, by virtue of the league’s controversial conference system, qualified for a home prelim despite having the 5th-best record in the overall league. However, a hot streak of form has developed in the pointy end of the year, culminating in a finals-worthy shellacking of Fremantle, who held the second-best league record, this past Saturday.

The 2019 AFLW Grand Final is scheduled for 1:00pm AEDT this coming Sunday, and will take place at the historic Adelaide Oval in front of an expected bumper crowd.

Gonna be GOOD.
