If you ever needed to prove football’s place in Australia, show ’em this game.
Adelaide United have won the 2015-2016 A-League Grand Final, toppling Western Sydney Wanderers in a cracking 3 – 1 victory at Adelaide Oval.
Adelaide young gun Bruce Kamau opened scoring in the 22nd minute, searing past Wanderers’ defence to connect with a cross from Marcelo Carrusca.

Kamau was brought down on the edge of the box soon after by WSW captain Nikolai Topor-Stanley; Isaias stepped up and buried an absolute curler into the top left, giving them a 2-0 lead just after the half-hour mark.
After sustaining a thorough hammering through the second half, Wanderers’ Scott Neville absolutely leathered his first ever goal for the club across the face of goal, pulling a vital goal back for the visiting squad.
One back for the Wanderers!

After waves of Wanderer attacks, a scrambling goal for the Reds was ruled offside, before the visitors dominated possession.
Then, super-sub Pablo Sanchez happened for Adelaide. 3 – 1. And that’s all she wrote.
Oh, the Red Army and their opposing Red & Black Bloc both had a bit of a parade too, bringing some terrifying hooliganism/actual atmosphere to the game.
In the words of Sir Alex Ferguson:
“Football. Bloody hell.”
