22-Year-Old Melbourne Star Jesse Hogan Diagnosed With Testicular Cancer

Jesse Hogan, 22-year-old forward for Melbourne Football Club, has been diagnosed with a kind of testicular cancer.

Hogan will undergo surgery this afternoon.
The club issued a statement on Hogan’s condition this morning, saying that thanks to the tumour’s “extremely early detection,” he will return to the game by the end of the year.

The Demons have also revealed the seminoma hasn’t spread to any other part of Hogan’s body.
It’s not yet known if Hogan, who missed last weekend’s victory against the Adelaide Crows due to “illness”, will undergo radiotherapy of chemotherapy after the surgery.

Hogan also missed another round earlier in the year after his father died of cancer.

We’ll update this story as more information becomes available.
