A US woman’s bid to secretly watch her sister’s engagement has gone viral after she disguised herself as a bush to record the proposal. Yes… A LITERAL BUSH.
While the proposal took place, Therese Merkel remained camouflaged amongst the surrounding shrubbery and took some beautiful, candid snaps of the now-engaged duo, Rachel Merkel and Andrew Philibeck. Surely this is a candidate for sister of year.

“We are 1 yr apart.. why are our lives so different rofl,” Merkel posted to Twitter.
Singles everywhere… we felt that.

Like, I feel Therese’s tweet perfectly encapsulates what it feels like when you go to a family function and your relatives ask you if you’re dating anyone and you just shake your head while eating a potato, surrounded by a sea of happy couples. Very that. Alas, I digress…
Therese spoke to POPSUGAR about the costume’s success. “While I was hiding, I had the perfect view of the whole thing,” she said. “Andrew knew I was hiding and wasn’t even sure I was there when he walked down — that’s how baller this suit was.”
She continued: “He wrote her a loving poem, and then got down on one knee — well, at least tried, because the ring got stuck in his pocket during attempt one . . . She said yes during attempt two.”
The initial post has since amassed over 176k likes. Sensing an opportunity to ride the wave of her tweet’s virality, Therese then proceeded to shoot her shot with a celeb or two.

Who can blame her? We stan a relatable queen who capitalises on the moment.
But Nas, seriously, can you please notice her?
