‘My Dad Wrote A Porno’ Is Touring Australia Again In 2020, Bc The Sub-Par Erotica Never Ends

When it comes to successful – yet strange – podcasts, My Dad Wrote A Porno has to be in the top five. The premise – a guy reading out his dad’s really, really bad erotica novel to two mates – seems like something that would grow old read quick, and yet here we are years later still devouring the eps like crazy.

For anyone with NFI what I’m talking about, Jamie Morton’s dad… wrote a porno. Obviously. And Jamie reads excerpts of what is truly the worst possible erotica ever out to his mates, who make comments. Honestly, when I began listening I was like “why am I tuning in to a bunch of people laughing and talking about nothing” but quickly I began laughing along and became this meme.

If you’re someone who listens to MY podcast, All Aussie Mystery Hour, I will say this – it is not lost on me that most of our listeners probably follow the same journey – who the fuck are these annoying idiots, followed by oh my god my best friends are chatting again, I’d better tune in.

Anyway! Back to the tour news. The gang toured Australia in 2017, with hit shows at the Sydney Opera House and so on. But since then it’s been radio silence on the live Aussie show side of things – until now. Yep, Jamie Morton, Alice Levine and James Cooper are coming Down Under (presumably with some Down Under jokes up their sleeves) for a nation-wide tour in January 2020.

Mark your diaries with these dates – the Sydney Opera House on January 8, Perth on January 11th, Adelaide on January 13th, Melbourne on January 15th and Brisbane on January 17th.

PSA though – tickets go on sale really soon – 1 pm, Thursday, July 18 (that’s this Thurs!) so you need to be quick and organised. If you’re with Live Nation, you can cop pre-sale as of 12 pm Wednesday, July 17 until 12 pm Thursday, July 18. Good one.
