Selena Gomez’s Mum Gave A Juicy Interview To A Gossip Site About Bieber

In what will never not be a slightly weird decision, Selena Gomez‘s mum has given an interview to Gossip Cop about her daughter’s rekindled relationship with Justin Bieber.

Selena and her mum, Mandy Teefey, have something of a tumultuous relationship, making headlines for unfollowing each other on Instagram late last year amid rumours they were no longer on speaking terms. (Selena then posted a cryptic photo of her and her mum to Instagram, so honestly, who knows at this point.)

Teefey told Gossip Cop that she’s “not happy” that her 25-year-old daughter appears to be seeing her ex-boyfriend again, but that “Selena can live her life however she wants as long as she is happy, safe and healthy.”

She denied that the rift between her and Selena widened after she and her husband stopped managing Selena’s career in 2014. “Every mother and daughter has disagreements … We never expected to manage her her whole life. We lost family time because the only time we saw her, we talked business.”

Teefey also responded to ‘concerns’ that Selena rekindling her relationship with Bieber could be detrimental to her health. “She is 25 years old and knows what is at stake with her health. I do not control her the way it has been portrayed. She is an adult and can make her own choices.”

Selena and Justin have been spotted together since last year, and were reportedly in couples therapy by December over Biebs texting his ex, Hailey Baldwin.

That stint was reportedly the reason behind Teefey’s hospitalisation late last year. “When Selena revealed she and JB were in couples therapy, Mandy flipped … realising the relationship was going to be more long-term than she thought,” the gossip website reported.

TBH, we’re just waiting for the couple to make it Instagram official at this point … and hoping that the fam manage to work out whatever’s going on.
