FUCK YEAH: A ‘Riverdale’ Spinoff Is In The Works For Your Shit Viewing Pleasure

The CW‘s dark and ~mysterious~ Riverdale universe is expanding at a rapid rate with The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on its way and apparently there’s another spinoff in the works.

Network president Mark Pedowitz revealed that the network’s currently in the very very early stages of a companion series from Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa

“In terms of spinoffs out of Riverdale, I’m waiting to hear what Roberto has in mind. He has something in mind,” Pedowitz said during the executive session at the Television Critics Association press tour.

If all goes well, the potential show is set to air at some point between 2019 and 2020.

Aguirre-Sacasa wouldn’t elaborate on exactly what fans can expect as they’re still working out the kinks of the idea.

“We’re really excited but we’re still early on in the process. It will be very different from Riverdale,” Aguirre-Sacasa told reporters.

Meanwhile, Riverdale’s third season is set to drop later this year and based off the recent teaser, we are in for a creepy AF treat.

Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa previously revealed that the cult theme of the third season was inspired by the Netflix documentary Wild Wild Country along with the “horrific Allison Mack cult and it felt like that was really interesting to explore,” he said.

Aguirre-Sacasa teased that they are talking to “some really exciting gentlemen” to play Edgar’s role, who will make his debut after the first few episodes of the season.
