Noah Centineo Is A Wholesome Male Escort In The Trailer For ‘The Perfect Date’

Like most red-blooded fans of To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before out there, I’ve got quite the soft spot for the movie’s resident dreamboat Noah Centineo. The bloke is really having a ~moment~ too, with rumours circulating that he’s set to buff up and play He-Man, plus there’s his new Netflix rom-com, The Perfect Date, set to drop in April.

The trailer for the film, which co-stars Riverdale‘s Camila Mendes, has just been released by the streaming giant, and it’s not exactly what I was expecting. To be honest I don’t know what I was expecting — probably just TATBILB with a slightly different plotline, maybe? — but this movie features Noah as, well, a male escort.

Sure, they call it a “chaperone” in this film, but basically his character Brooks Rattigan (I’m sorry on what PLANET is that an acceptable name) want to go to the prestigious Ivy League college Yale, but can’t afford it, so cooks up a plot to get paid to take various girls to school dances / socials / proms / formals / whatever. It’s like an escort without the sexual elements, since The Perfect Date is a YA movie and the furthest we see him go is pashing, unfortunately.

While the trailer does cover a lot of the plotline — he and a girl named Celia (Laura Marano) seem to be in the friend zone, but he wants to bone Shelby (Mendes), his nerd friend Murph (Odiseas Georgiadis) gets up him for not hanging out with him anymore, all standard teen stuff — the deeply thirsty bitch inside me is keen see the adults-only sequel in which Brooks has a flourishing escort career, tbh.

The film is streaming on Netflix from April 12, but in the meantime give the trailer a squiz right here:
